Blackening Spice for Fish,Chicken or Shrimp

For Fish or Chicken dip into clarified butter first before coating with spice, then place into pre-heated cast iron pan and cook a few min on each side,  drizzle with  a little butter before placing in the oven.

For shrimp combine a little canola oil with spice to form a paste then coat shrimp in paste before placing in the pan.

    • 1Tbsp garlic powder
    • 1Tbsp onion powder
    • 1Tbsp paprika
    • 1Tbsp thyme (whole)
    • 1Tbsp oregano (whole)
    • 1/2 Tbsp seasoning salt
    • 1/2 Tbsp black pepper (ground)
    • 1/2 Tbsp cumin (ground)
    • 1/2 Tbsp mustard powder
    • 1/2 Tbsp cayenne
    • 1/2 Tbsp celery salt


    Method: combine above spices and mix well
